Session Schedule
9:30pm in English
10:00 pm and 11:30 pm in Portuguese. The month of April stands out as the time of year with the greatest wealth of galaxies.
We recommend days close to the new moon to obtain good contrast through the telescope.Galaxies such as the Whirlpool Galaxy, the Pinwheel Galaxy, the Virgo Galaxy, the Markarian Chain, the Sombrero Galaxy, the Leo Triplet, the pair M81 (Goat Galaxy) and M82 (Cigar Galaxy) are clearly visible, especially in sessions where there is no Moon in the sky.
The Great Hercules Cluster, one of the most beautiful clusters to observe through a telescope, is already beginning to be well observed in the second session of the night.
April 13th - Full Moon
April 17th Start of the Lyrid Meteor Shower .
April 21-22 - Lyrid Meteor Shower reaches peak intensity. A good show is expected given the low illumination of the Moon at 40%.
April 25th and 26th - Galaxies Special.
April 28th - New Moon.
