Interactive Learning: Children will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences that make science accessible and exciting.
From stargazing to performing small experiments, each session is a new adventure.
Relaxed Environment: We create a welcoming and friendly space where children feel comfortable asking questions, exploring and sharing their discoveries with their peers.
Varied Themes: Each week brings a new theme related to science and astronomy.
Children will learn about planets, stars, constellations, natural phenomena and much more, always through fun and educational activities.
Skills Development: In addition to expanding scientific knowledge, activities help develop important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and creativity.
Our activities are for children aged 6 to 14, and are designed to stimulate curiosity and a love of knowledge in a fun and engaging way.

Available Activities

Construction of Sundials
By building sundials, we explore the relationships between day and night and the Earth's rotation, as well as the variation in the length of days with the tilt of the Earth's axis and the Earth's translational movement.

Target Shooting – Understanding the Formation of Craters on the Moon
Activity where we simulate meteorite impacts and the formation of craters. We analyze the effect that density or impact speed has on crater formation. We also explore the formation of the lunar surface.

Construction of spectroscopes
The composition of light and its propagation are explored in this activity through the analysis of rainbow images and the decomposition of white light by prisms. We present spectroscopy as a way of obtaining the composition of stars.

The night sky of Alentejo, myths and legends
Using software, we simulate the night sky as seen from Earth and observe the planets, galaxies and nebulae typical of nighttime observation sessions.

How do ESO telescopes work?
We’ll explain how our telescopes at home and the world’s largest telescopes work and how they magnify distant objects. We’ll also reveal how astronomers find new planets around other stars.

Construction of Nocturlabes
These simple instruments allow us to tell the time by observing the constellation Ursa Minor. We also explore issues such as the rotation of the Earth, the origin of day and night and orientation by the North Star.

Solar System Tour: A Journey from Mercury to Pluto and Beyond
The solar system seen in detail. The planets are presented one by one and their physical characteristics and distinctive features are analyzed. The activity can be done using software or during a scaled-down visit to our solar system.

Interplanetary Balance
In this activity, students are introduced to the concepts of weight and mass and the relationship between these two quantities and the acceleration of gravity. We explore the concept of gravitational force and free fall.

Solar Observations
Solar observation sessions, using suitable and safe telescopes. We explore the nature of the Sun as a star, its origin and evolution. We also explain the dangers associated with its observation.
