10:00 PM and 11:30 PM in Portuguese
September 7th - Full Moon
Total lunar eclipse on the 7th. The Moon will rise already eclipsed, however, we have a special session to mark the date.
September 21 - New Moon - first session in the days around is the best time to observe the Milky Way.
The Milky Way is clearly visible during both sessions.
For good observation, days without a Moon in the sky are recommended (between the waning and waxing quarters, preferably as close to the New Moon as possible).September 21 - Saturn will be at opposition (the day it is closest to Earth). Throughout the month, the second session of the night is the best time to watch The Lord of the Rings.
The month of September, like August, stands out for the enormous variety of objects in the sky, with the addition of our closest neighboring galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, beginning to make its presence felt in the sky in both sessions.
